Big data means big
business for sales professionals.
"The days of selling by gut instinct are gone," according to Dr. Bob Erffmeyer, University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire marketing professor. "With analytics, salespeople are better able to target prospects, qualify leads, and close the deal by creating individualized approaches and selling solutions that meet customer needs."
On March 31, UW-Eau Claire marketing alumni will be on campus to discuss how they use data to target customers, identify product or industry trends and support sales presentations. The panel presentation will be held from 4-5:30 pm in Schneider Hall Room 100. Any student interested in a career in sales, marketing analytics or general marketing will find this forum useful.
Members of the panel are as follows:
- Ryan Knapp, '08, business manager, Acosta, Eden Prairie, MN
- Emily Helmer, '11, associate brand manager, Hormel Foods, Austin, MN
- Ian Novak, '11, key account manager, Robinson Fresh, Philadelphia, PA.
Erffmeyer and Jerry Kollross, senior lecturer of marketing, will moderate the discussion.
The panel presentation is the first program in the 2015 Hot Topics: Marketing Forum series sponsored by the UW-Eau Claire Department of Management and Marketing, Center for Sales and Sales Management, and the UW-Eau Claire Chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon (PSE).
