University Archives provides film footage for National Geographic mini-series event

| Greg Kocken

Drawing on extensive archival film footage and still images, “Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist,” is a mini-series event premiering this Wednesday, December 6, on the National Geographic channel. The series, narrated by Sigourney Weaver, explores the life, murder, and legacy of primatologist Dr. Dian Fossey.

McIntyre Library’s Special Collections and Archives Department preserves and provides access to the records of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Included among the University Archives is archival film footage of Fossey’s 1981 Forum presentation, “Years with the Mountain Gorilla.” Special Collections and Archives provided archival film footage of this Forum Series presentation to Tigress Productions. This content will be shown during the second episode in the series, set to air on Wednesday, December 13.
