Clarice Chase Dunn Papers now online!

| Greg Kocken

Clarice Chase Dunn, a 1937 graduate of Eau Claire State Teachers Collection (now University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire), taught English, social science, and civics from 1942-1943 at the Heart Mountain Japanese American Internment Camp in Wyoming. Her scrapbooks, letters, oral history interview, and other items in this collection help us to better understand her experiences and this period in American history. The digitized portion of this collection provides access to her scrapbooks and the oral history interview conducted with her in the early 2000s. The physical collection, available through the library’s Special Collections and Archives Department, contains additional materials that discuss the operations of the internment camp and efforts in the 1980s to establish redress payments to those who were interned in these camps.
