Dr. Ryan Weichelt
Dr. Ryan Weichelt, associate professor of geography and anthropology, will serve as interim director of the First Year Experience Program during the 2017-18 academic year.
Weichelt brings extensive experience as an FYE instructor and member of the FYE advisory board. The FYE program is designed to improve retention by connecting students with campus services, assisting in the transition to college life and integrating students into the Blugold community.
What began as an undergraduate plan aimed at medical school became a series of research experiences that led Jordan Munos to a new goal in the medical field as a biomedical scientist and a doctoral program at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Phil Rechek, an Eau Claire community member with years of experience in management and programming and a passion for the First Amendment, will serve as the first program coordinator for the Menard Center for Constitutional Studies at UW-Eau Claire.
