The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will mark the 100th anniversary of the dedication of Schofield Hall — formerly known as Old Main — and the special role the university’s first building has played throughout campus history, during Old Main Day on Oct. 19. The event is part of UW-Eau Claire's Centennial Celebration.
Staff from Visit Eau Claire aboard their Eau Claire Stream trailer will kick off the festivities at 11:30 a.m. The rededication ceremony will begin at noon outdoors in front of Schofield Hall (rain site: Schofield Auditorium).
Attractions will include a newly installed UW-Eau Claire history wall in the building’s first-floor corridor, a presentation of historic photos in Schofield Auditorium and a 100-foot birthday cake.
The event is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Human Sciences and Services lot on Water Street, and shuttle service will be provided from the lot to Schofield Hall.
