Join in the fight to end hunger on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus.
Campus Harvest Food Pantry has an opportunity to receive one pound of food from the Feed My People Food Bank for each dollar raised up to $5,000 by Oct. 17 through the Food for More Challenge. This is a partnership between Feed My People and the food assistance programs it serves.
Opened in September 2014, Campus Harvest Food Pantry is an on-campus food pantry at UW-Eau Claire. As an initiative of the Office of Student Affairs and run by student volunteers, Campus Harvest was developed to aid the high percentage of students that self-identified as in need of supplemental food assistance.
"The match will be one pound of food through shared maintenance food credit at Feed My People, up to a maximum of 5,000 pounds ($5,000 matched)," said Julie Carr, administrative supervisor for Campus Harvest. "The dollars raised are used by Campus Harvest so you can really increase the value of your donation in this program."
One hundred percent of donations plus 100 percent of the matching funds per pound will be used at Feed My People Food Bank in Eau Claire where Campus Harvest purchases food not received in food drives and donations.
The deadline for this program is Oct. 17. Please make checks payable to UW-Eau Claire Foundation and note in the memo line of the check "Campus Harvest Match Challenge."
