The following is an overview of work completed since Feb. 1, 2018, and expected in the next 30 days on UW-Eau Claire construction projects.

Work completed since Feb. 1, 2017
Garfield Avenue redevelopment
On hold until spring 2018.
Karlgaard Towers south tower renovation
- Completed installing first-floor stud walls.
- Completed drywall installation in common areas on floors 9 and 10.
- Completed exterior brick removal on floors 1 and 2 where new student lounge windows will be installed.
New residence hall
- Installed construction site fencing.
- Removed designated trees from construction site.
- Moved job trailers onto site.

Work to be completed in next 30 days
Garfield Avenue redevelopment
- Install handrail extension along sidewalk at bottom of campus hill.
- Construct Chippewa Lounge area.
Karlgaard Towers south tower renovation
- Excavate and pour concrete footings for new lobby on east side of Karlgaard Towers.
- Begin new window installations, starting on 10th floor.
- Continue plumbing rough-ins.
- Continue rough electrical work in student rooms.
- Continue painting in student rooms.
- Continue construction of penthouse addition (to hold new HVAC unit).
- Continue installing rough electrical on first floor.
- Continue installing first of two new elevators.
- Begin steel stud installation on floors 6, 5 and 4.
- Begin tile installation in bathrooms on floors 10 and 9.
- Begin drywall installation in common areas on floors 8 and 7.
New residence hall
- Drive piles for ground stabilization around structure.
- Begin digging foundation.
- Remove tennis and basketball courts and part of Governors parking lot on construction site.
- Install new sanitary line to serve new residence hall, Governors Hall and Horan Hall.
