UW-Eau Claire construction update: Feb. 5, 2019

The following is an overview of work completed since Dec. 1, 2018, and expected in the next 60 days on UW-Eau Claire construction projects.

Work completed since Dec. 1, 2018

David Karlgaard Hall renovation

  • Asbestos abatement on remaining floors.
  • Demolition of bathrooms/center section on all floors.
  • Mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins on floors 6 through 3.
  • Masonry construction of bathroom walls on floors 6 through 3.
  • Drywall installation on floors 10 through 4.
  • Painting on floors 10 through 3.

New residence hall

  • Roof construction.
  • Drywall installation on floors 3 and 4.
  • Electrical and plumbing rough-ins through floor 5.
  • Interior painting on floors 2 and 3.
  • Steel studs installation.
  • Exterior brick installation on building's west side.

Work to be completed in next 60 days

  • Complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins on floor 2 and basement.
  • Complete masonry construction of bathroom walls on floor 2.
  • Complete drywall installation on floors 3 through 1.
  • Complete painting on floors 2 and 1.
  • Install ceramic tile on floors 10 through 4.
  • Complete study lounge window installations on floors 10 through 2.
  • Complete exterior metal panels installation on floors 10 through 2.

New residence hall

  • Complete drywall installation on floors 5 and 6.
  • Complete electrical and plumbing rough-ins on floor 6.
  • Complete interior painting through floor 4.
  • Complete exterior brick installation on building's east and south sides.
  • Begin installing windows and exterior metal panels.
