More success for children's book author and alumna

| Denise Olson

English master’s program graduate Caroline Akervik, a local children’s book author, has recently been featured in Volume One magazine regarding the publications of two of her most recent books. An accomplished equestrian, it's fitting that Akervik chose a horse as the subject of her 2012 release "A Horse Named Viking," and more recently a holiday tale, "Calvin the Cookie Maker," published in November 2015. The latter also deals with an aspect of Akervik's real life, hockey, and a boy named Calvin who has a tough choice to make revolving around his favorite sport.

To find out more about Akervik's continued publishing success, check out the two Volume One articles, Season's Readings: Children's book explores a Wisconsin Christmas and A Horse named Viking: Local writer publishes young adult fiction.
