The Small Business Development Center at UW-Eau Claire is excited to announce that they’ve be named the 2016 Wisconsin SBDC Network Center of the Year by the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center.
Consideration for the award included meeting metric goals set for the center for the number of clients served, capital infusion and business starts along with contributions to the local region and leadership within the state network. The SBDC at UW-Eau Claire along with two other centers in the state were nominated for the award with the final award winner being chosen by a voting process from all Wisconsin SBDC network centers. In 2015 the SBDC at UW-Eau Claire served 168 clients assisting with 22 business starts and helped business owners secure over $16 million of capital investments.
Luke Kempen, Director of the SBDC at UW-Eau Claire stated, “The success of the SBDC at UW-Eau Claire is built through outreach into the local community and working in harmony with local economic development partners to serve clients. We are fortunate to have strong partners in northwest Wisconsin”
Funded in part through a collaborative agreement between the U.S. Small Business Administration and UW-Extension, the Wisconsin SBDC Network supports entrepreneurs and business owners statewide through no-cost, confidential consulting and targeted educational programs. Regional SBDC experts leverage the resources of the SBDC, the UW System and UW Extension to facilitate improvement and growth for small and emerging mid-size companies and help launch successful enterprises. The Wisconsin SBDC at UW-Eau Claire serves Eau Claire, Chippewa, Dunn, Pepin, Clark, Rusk, Taylor, and Barron counties.
