experienced leader AND lifelong learner

| Claire Lindstrom

As the executive director of Couleecap, Inc., a Community Action Agency whose mission is to fight poverty and promote self-sufficiency, economic development and social justice, Grace Jones truly believes in lifelong learning, as does her organization. Couleecap, Inc., made the decision several years ago to be an organization of continuous improvement and invest in the professional development of Couleecap Inc. staff.
Grace has been an executive director since 1986, yet when she received a Nonprofit Leadership Series brochure in the mail, her interest was piqued – a university quality program with topics relevant to her everyday needs: strategic planning, fund raising, finances, marketing, and skills for managing the business and the board. Grace attended the series, earned her certificate in Nonprofit Leadership, and is very pleased with her experience.

Grace says, "The Nonprofit Leadership Series is not your typical foundational training. If only I had the opportunity for this training when I first became an agency leader. I had to learn all of this information piece meal. These sessions will prepare one for the complex and challenging work of the non-profit leader. This is a wonderful opportunity for a current leader or a future leader.”
