Continuing Education announces September program offerings

University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/UW Extended Campus connects people with possibilities by providing degrees and certificates for working adults, professional and workforce development, youth and community programs and resources for business.

Following are upcoming programs that provide the opportunity for individuals to grow professionally and personally:

Red Cedar Choir
UW-Eau Claire – Barron County
Sept. 8-Dec. 4
Open to all community members, high school age and older. You will have the incredible opportunity to sing and be part of one of the best choirs in the area.

Ethics and Boundaries: Telehealth and Technology
Sept. 9, online
The pandemic has forced us into a new digital transformation. In just a short time we have moved more services online and rely even more on digital technologies to communicate and do our jobs. But where are our boundaries in the new digital age?

Communiversity Band
UW-Eau Claire – Barron County
Sept. 12-Nov. 15
Communiversity Band is a joint effort of the UW-Eau Claire – Barron County music department and the adult musicians of the surrounding communities.

Sign Language 1

Sept. 12-Oct. 31
Do you wish you knew how to communicate through sign language? This course will give you basic knowledge and understanding to communicate with the deaf community. Practice the fundamentals of conversation, including receptive skills and body language.

Mushrooms of Late Summer and Autumn
Sept. 13-24, hybrid
Mushroom foraging has seen a dramatic rise in popularity across the country. Autumn is the season when wild mushrooms are most prevalent, so it is a great time of year to forage.

Learning to Lead
Sept. 15-16, online
Good leaders continually look for new ways to effectively lead their team. Learning to Lead will challenge and inspire you, whether you’ve been in a leadership role for a long time or you have recently taken on a supervisory role.

Wound Treatment Associate Program
Sept. 19-Dec. 12, online
Through the convenience of online learning, the WTA program will help you with daily patient monitoring, pressure ulcer prevention and basic wound management to improve outcomes for patients.

Emotional Intelligence and Empowerment
Sept. 22-29, online
Leverage your strengths and values to draw out the abilities and talents of others. In this elective course, learn to overcome personal challenges and use your emotional intelligence to empower the results.

Ethics and Boundaries: Working with Geriatric Populations
Sept. 23, online
Working with geriatric individuals is a rewarding career path. There can be some unique challenges in providing care and support to this population, including social, emotional and physical considerations. Deepen you knowledge at this half-day program.

Northwinds British Brass Band
UW-Eau Claire – Barron County
Sept. 25-Dec. 4
The Northwinds British Brass Band was created in the British tradition of brass and percussion.
