Explore the fusion of science and art with this innovative class on human perception of light and color. Study various optical illusions using scientific analysis to understand the human psychology behind the science of art.

Global Climate Change: Science and Society
Wednesdays, Oct. 4-25, Eau Claire
This program will encourage the understanding of the science behind global climate change and proposed technical and societal solutions. Students will explore how human behavior influences climate change and how politics are shaping worldviews on this hot-button issue. 

Supervisor Training: Orientation, Time Management and Delegation
Oct. 12-13, Eau Claire
Oct. 26-27, Hudson
This program will provide you with the leadership skills required to ensure your teams are productive and accountable. You will learn how to discover and build on employee strengths, optimize orientation/onboarding processes, improve engagement, productivity and retention, boost time management skills and avoid common delegation pitfalls.

Foot and Nail Care: Education for Nurses
Oct. 17-20, Eau Claire
As our population ages and we see rising rates of diabetes, the demand for foot and nail care is rapidly increasing. This area of nursing practice is often neglected in formal nursing education, leaving a shortage of professional providers. This course will give you all the tools you need to begin a practice of basic foot and nail care.

Foot and Nail Care: Starting a Business
Oct. 17, Eau Claire
Take the first steps to starting your business and join us for this informational workshop. Learn how to start your business with a local business entrepreneur who will guide you through the process of developing your lean startup plan. You will hear from a foot and nail care specialist, small business entrepreneurs, and current foot and nail care business owners.

FREE Foot and Nail Care for the Community
Oct. 18- 20, Eau Claire
During the clinic, nurses will assess your foot nail health and determine areas that need attention. Appointments range from 20-60 minutes, depending on the level of care required. A nurse practitioner, certified in foot and nail care, will supervise the clinic.

Focus on Mental Health: Update on the Major Mental Illnesses of DSM-5: Schizophrenia, Depression, Bipolar Disorder and Anxiety
Oct. 17, Eau Claire
This program will focus on the latest research and treatments relating to the DSM-5 major mental illnesses. Participants will review case studies and current evidence relating to etiology, diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder and anxiety.

Focus on Mental Health: Personality Disorders
Oct. 18, Eau Claire
This program will help participants understand antisocial, borderline and narcissistic personality disorders and the challenges they can present to clinicians. The focus will be on the interpersonal interactions, ethical lapses and treatment strategies for client management and ongoing therapy.

Supervisory Management: Dealing with Conflict
Oct. 19-20, Hudson
Conflict management is an ongoing challenge — and opportunity — for organizations, managers and supervisors. This program offers an evidence-based training approach to learning new and current conflict management skills. Even experienced managers will benefit from the expert insight, shared experiences and group discussions facilitated through this program.
