Blugold sings for Packers Hall of Fame celebrations

It was the legendary Brett Favre who inspired 70,000+ football fans to travel to Lambeau Field two summers ago to celebrate the quarterback’s induction into the Packers Hall of Fame, but it was a young Blugold who — literally — brought the emotional crowd to its feet early in the ceremony.

Maddie Forrest, now a sophomore public relations major at UW-Eau Claire, sang the national anthem at the highly anticipated Hall of Fame event.

Despite the large crowd and the football stars all around her in Lambeau Field, Maddie’s performance was so impressive that even Donald Driver, another retired superstar, complimented her afterward.

This summer, the Green Bay native will again sing at the annual Packers Hall of Fame induction ceremony, something she’s been doing each year since she was a 16-year-old high school student.

Now a member of UW-Eau Claire’s all-female a cappella group Audacious and the university’s Concert Choir, Maddie shares her story about performing at the Hall of Fame events in an article in the student newspaper, The Spectator.
