Commencement to begin at 10 a.m. Dec. 17

Due to the winter storm, Saturday morning commencement at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire will be moved from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Dec. 17, with the afternoon session to be held as planned at 2 p.m. Both ceremonies will be held in Zorn Arena, with a reception to follow in the university’s Davies Center.

UW-Eau Claire grounds crews will be conducting snow-removal operations to keep campus sidewalks and parking lots clear. Those arriving on campus for commencement are encouraged to park in university lots and not on city streets near the university. The Phillips, Hibbard, Water Street, and Human Sciences and Services lots will be plowed in advance for commencement visitors. See a campus map for parking lot, Zorn Arena, Schofield Hall and Davies Center locations.

Those planning to attend are encouraged to use appropriate precautions and to allow extra time for travel to campus.

For those unable to attend, a live stream of the commencement ceremony will be viewable online at

Watch for any changes to these commencement details. Students also would be notified via email and/or text alerts from UW-Eau Claire’s emergency notification system should there be last-minute changes to the commencement schedule.
