Year of Challenge, Year of Change

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday.

With this video, we honor our student nurses and nurse educators. As Dean Linda Young stated, "It speaks louder than any words could about this living entity where faculty, staff and students come together in a variety of ways. It is what we call our College of Nursing and Health Sciences."

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the courage and commitment that our faculty and staff have shown every day. It has also revealed how resilient our student nurses are as they face the challenges of these uncertain times. For these students, they will begin their professional careers with experiences and insights that no other cohort has imagined. For our faculty and staff this time has been a period of immense stress where education models have changed overnight, research has been disrupted, and support services are delivered to students from a distance.

Yet, through it all we have persevered.
