Kaleidoscope of Nursing Scholarship Day on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Davies Center on the UW-Eau Claire campus
The 2015-2016 academic year will mark the 50th anniversary of the nursing program at UW-Eau Claire. On July 14, 1965, the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing approved the establishment of a School of Nursing at what was then called the Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire, and later renamed the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. In September 1965, the first class of 22 sophomore nursing students was admitted and enrolled in the baccalaureate nursing program. In celebration of our 50th anniversary, the College of Nursing and Health Sciences will be hosting a number of events, including the Kaleidoscope of Nursing Scholarship Day. The event will be held in conjunction with the Delta Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, the Honor Society of Nursing.
The keynote "Nursing, Virtual Reality, and the Future Environment of Health" will be presented by Patricia Brennan, PhD, RN, FAAN, Lillian S. Moehlman-Bascom Professor of Nursing and Industrial Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Madison. The presentation will take place in the Woodland Theater, 3rd floor of the Davies Center.
