Chemotherapy exposure research conducted this summer

| Jan Adams

Associate Professor, Dalete Mota, PhD, RN recently received an award through the Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates program. The research project involves an interdisciplinary collaboration between the College of Nursing and Health Sciences and the UW-Eau Claire Chemistry Department. A partnership with Mayo Clinic Health System is also being established. During this summer, faculty and students will investigate what measures should be adopted by patients with cancer and their family members to avoid exposure to contaminate excretes from patients’ receiving chemotherapy.

The Summer Research Experiences for Undergraduates program is funded through the Office of Research and Sponsored Program and is intended to facilitate undergraduate research, scholarship, and creative activities during the summer. Awards include funds for student stipends, faculty stipends, supplies, services, and research travel.
