Compete for cash prizes and other perks

| Gretchen Hutterli

Are you working on a research project that could ultimately benefit society?  Do you have a business idea that could become the next big idea? Compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to increase exposure for your research/idea by participating in the WiSys Quick Pitch, a competition that encourages innovative and entrepreneurial thinking at UW comprehensive campuses like UW-Eau Claire. The competition is open to all majors.

Here’s how it works. . .

  1. Register your concept here by March 19.
  2. Develop a three-minute elevator pitch explaining the relevance and impact of your research/idea. Get help with your pitch by attending a training session where you will learn how to create a short, persuasive and compelling pitch that anyone can understand. You will also learn the importance of being able to present in non-confidential terms and how to avoid disclosing too much.
  3. Give your pitch on May 1 during 2018 CERCA, the university's annual celebration of excellence in research and creative activity. The winner of the Eau Claire Quick Pitch will receive a cash award and the opportunity to pitch at the WiSys Quick Pitch State Final at UW-Parkside. An additional cash prize is available for the WiSys Quick Pitch State Champion.
