UW-Eau Claire College of Business maintains prestigious AACSB business accreditation

The College of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International—The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.

“Reaccreditation by AACSB is an affirmation of the quality of our faculty and staff and the undergraduate and MBA programs found at UW-Eau Claire”, said Diane Hoadley, UW-Eau Claire College of Business dean. “Business schools are not all the same. AACSB-accredited schools, like UW-Eau Claire, offer students the best education by having the highest quality faculty and staff, relevant and challenging curriculum, and engaging educational and career opportunities that are not as available at non-accredited business schools.”

Known as the hallmark of excellence in business education, AACSB accreditation has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs. Today, there are more than 650 business schools in 45 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation. Similarly, 178 institutions maintain an additional specialized AACSB Accreditation for their accounting programs.

“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”

UW-Eau Claire College of Business was first accredited by AACSB International in 1980. Schools that earn AACSB Accreditation must maintain their accreditations every five years. UW-Eau Claire College of Business will complete its self-study during the 2016-2017 academic year. The college will be visited by AACSB International representatives the following academic year.
