Timothy Vaughan to serve as interim College of Business dean

Dr. Timothy Vaughan will serve as interim dean of UW-Eau Claire's College of Business following the June 30 retirement of current dean Diane Hoadley.

As interim dean, Vaughan will provide oversight, operational direction, and coordination for the college's administration and academic mission.

Vaughan has been a member of the College of Business management faculty since 1997. He served as chair of the department of management and marketing from 2005-2012, and since 2012 has served as associate dean of the college.

"Dr. Vaughan is well positioned to provide effective leadership for the College of Business as it moves forward with a number of priorities identified by the college, especially in this its self-study year for AACSB re-accreditation," said Patricia A. Kleine, UW-Eau Claire provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs.

Kleine said Vaughan has been a critical participant in budget conversations and decisions, college curriculum development and assessment, faculty and staff performance evaluations, and interactions with advisory committees.

"With Tim as interim dean, I believe the needs of the college and its students, faculty and staff will be well served during the upcoming year," Kleine said.

Vaughan said he is honored to have been given the responsibility of serving as interim dean.

"The upcoming academic year will be a critical one for the College of Business for a variety of reasons," Vaughan said. "We have a solid group of dedicated professionals who are clearly up to meeting the challenges at hand. I look forward to working with College of Business faculty and staff, as well as others across campus and across the community."

Vaughan received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Northern Iowa and his doctorate degree in operations research from The University of Iowa in Iowa City.
