The UW-Eau Claire Entrepreneur Program is teaming up with Startup Wisconsin for Startup Eau Claire Week. This week long event is designed to connect, educate, and celebrate entrepreneurship. The week showcases startups, resources, and organizations available for entrepreneurs. The events are free and open to the public.

Schedule of Events:

Monday, November 5
11:30 AM - Financial Planning | for you Health, Future + the Unexpected

With expert speakers, discover practical resources and techniques for planning for your life + future as a business owner. Lunch will be provided.

6:00 PM - Swim with the Sharks

Give a two minute pitch in front of a live audience and a professional expert panel about your business idea. Prizes will be awarded and no fully developed business plan is required. Our sharks are friendly and refreshments will be served. Give it a try!

Tuesday, November 6
6:00 PM - Start A Business: Step One

Whether you have an idea or not, you are invited to attend “Start a Business: Step One.” You’ll learn from local experts who have partnered together to help you understand the first steps in starting a business. This event is free and open to the public.

Wednesday, November 7
9:00 AM - 1 Million Cups Eau Claire

An event for local entrepreneurs to meet and present their startups to the thriving peer network of founders in Eau Claire. The speaker is Eli Rupnow, founder of Sages Prospero – he has purchased and will be discussing the 8 S. Farwell building (Hope Mission building), which he will be renovating next summer. Coffee is encouraged.

6:30 PM - Musky Tank: Take Action!

Come enjoy a beverage and listen to University of Wisconsin alums and students tell their startup stories and how they have taken action on their ideas! Isaac Carlson, a UWEC student, will be one of the four panelists.

Thursday, November 8
12:00 PM - 5 Marketing Mistakes Startips Make (and how to fix them)

Learn easy-to-use ways how you can avoid losing customers, let your startup gain users faster, and other crucial marketing tips for your startup. This talk is led by Justin Vajko of Dialog Design Co. 

6:00 PM - Hatch: Chippewa Valley Regional Finals

Hatch is a community-based startup pitch platform to help develop “napkin” ideas into early-stage companies.

Friday, November 9
6:00 PM - Business Bus Tour

Hosted by Nick White – a Wisconsin native, entrepreneur extraordinaire, and co-owner of Chippewa Valley Tours, you’ll enjoy a fun-filled evening exploring new Eau Claire businesses on a bus tour. The cost is $10.

7:00 PM - Failure Friday Open Mic

This is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to share and celebrate the failures of their endeavors. Wait, did you say celebrate failure?! Yes, we did!

Saturday, November 10
7:45 AM - Chippewa Valley Code Camp

On Saturday November 10th, 2018, Chippewa Valley Developers Group will be bringing together the brightest minds in West-Central Wisconsin to celebrate our shared passion for creating and developing software!
