Calling all Blugold entrepreneurs! Enter your business idea in the UW-Eau Claire Big Idea Tournament (BIT) for a chance to win money and represent our campus at the WI BIT in Madison!
The Big Idea Tournament is an entrepreneurship competition open to undergraduate and graduate students attending any two- or four-year University of Wisconsin school except UW-Madison. Here's how to enter:
- Create a 5-8 minute video presentation (using presentation software) describing the customer discovery and validation process you have accomplished regarding your business idea and business model. You may use PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, or other presentation software. The presentation should be narrated and saved as a video file. See Preparing Your Submission found on the International Business Model Competitions site for examples.
- Upload your video to YouTube. If you want your video hidden, mark it as unlisted, not private. (Only someone logged into your account can watch videos marked private.)
- Submit your video to Ann Rupnow by Friday, March 23.
All qualifying entrants in our local competition will compete for the following prizes:
- 1st place: $400
- 2nd place: $200
- 3rd place: $100
A panel of judges will review all local submissions and winners will be announced by Friday, March 30.
The first place winner/s in the UW-Eau Claire competition will compete at the Wisconsin BIT in Madison on Saturday, April 21. Travel expenses for student/s will be covered.
The Wisconsin BIT winner will receive $2,000 cash, and an opportunity to win up to $25,000 through Ideadvance. The winning team will also receive an expense-paid trip to Provo, Utah to represent Wisconsin at the International Business Model Competition.
