Recently APICS members, Preston Krautkramer, Shae Baier, Adrian Lynn, and Shawn Ranheim competed in the 2020 ASCM Regional Case Competition in Chicago.
The ASCM Case Competition is provided by ASCM in collaboration with Deloitte Consulting LLP. Participating teams presented solutions to an exciting end-to-end supply chain management problem. The case may involve distribution, logistics, sales, and operations planning, inventory, and other operations management challenges.
The UW-Eau Claire APICS team created an exceptional presentation that resulted in receiving first place out of eight teams. This fall the team will compete in the Global Championship against eight other teams in New Orleans.
ASCM is proud of a rich tradition of student team case competitions. The program began as a grassroots event, with many APICS chapters, colleges and universities taking part. Over the years, the Case Competition has evolved into a flagship event touching students at universities across Africa, Asia, Europe, and both North and South America (apics.org, 2019)
Erik Ohlhues, Megan Baier, Kailey Hodgson, and Alek Shipley competed in the CSCMP Wisconsin Supply Chain Undergraduate Case Competition in Madison. This competition was centered around a medical device manufacturer seeking to expand into global operations and begin manufacturing abroad to maintain a competitive market share. The team worked hard and had a great presentation, but unfortunately did not place.

The UW-Eau Claire Chapter is a part of the professional APICS Clearwater Chapter. UWEC APICS is one of only six platinum student chapters in North America. Terry Wells, supply chain and operations management senior lecturer, is the UW-Eau Claire APICS faculty advisor.
