Using analytics to transform marketing data into action

| Gretchen Hutterli

"Marketing analytics is a lucrative, fast growing field with many career opportunities," said Dr. Kate Kim, assistant professor of marketing. "But it's an area many students still don't know much about."

Marketing analytics uses statistical analysis and technology to make sense of the growing stream of data generated by marketing programs, social media and websites, ad campaigns, and sales. This information is used by decision makers to identify the most profitable customers, influence purchasing behavior, optimize the marketing mix, and calculate profitability.

Learn about this exciting career at the 5th Annual Marketing Analytics Day, Wednesday, April 12. The panel presentation will be held on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire campus from 5-6:30 pm in Schneider Hall 100. The event is free and open to the public.

This year's panelists work in different industries and represent a variety of career paths:

  • Jennine Fox, '07, ’12, Sr. Internet Marketing Specialist, Mason Companies
  • Mike Jelen, ‘98, Sr. Director, Analytics Practice Lead, eCapital Advisors
  • Ashley Krautkramer, '12, Sr. Category Development Analyst, Hormel Foods.

Moderating the panel are Kim and Kran Dugar, assistant professor in the Department of Management & Marketing.

Marketing Analytics Day is part of the 2017 Hot Topics: Marketing Forum series sponsored by the UW-Eau Claire Department of Management and Marketing and the College of Business. For more information, contact Dr. Kate Kim, Department of Management and Marketing.
