This summer the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire department of languages once again will offer its Bilingual Beginnings language immersion camps for students entering grades 1-4.
The camps will be held at the university's Children's Nature Academy at The Priory, 1190 Priory Road, Eau Claire.
Bilingual Beginnings will offer classes in Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish. Four two-week camps, offered from June 20-Aug. 19, will be offered. Participants may choose between morning (8:15 a.m.-noon) and afternoon (12:30-4:15 p.m.) sessions.
The majority of Bilingual Beginnings teachers are UW-Eau Claire language education majors with study-abroad experience as well as practice working with elementary-age children.
The cost per two-week session
is $235, plus a $10 materials fee. The Eau Claire Area School District will
cover the $235 fee for any student who resides within the district.
The Bilingual Beginnings registration deadlines are June 1 for sessions 1 and 2, and July 1 for sessions 3 and 4. For session details and to register, visit the Children's Nature Academy website.
The Children’s Nature Academy also offers other summer programming for school-age children weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. For more information about Bilingual Beginnings or other Children's Nature Academy programming, contact Sabrina Clay at 715-836-2178 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
