UW-Eau Claire biology major Megan Schleusner had the experience of a lifetime last summer working in a research lab at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, studying osteoporosis and working on a team seeking to better the lives of patients.
Allie Welter, a 2018 UW-Eau Claire graduate, spent five months researching at Mayo Clinic as part of a team that seeks treatment and understanding of a rare genetic heart defect. For Welter, motivation for this pioneering work is very personal.
