Library closed: updates, online services

McIntyre Library is closed:
Students, staff, and faculty can continue to access the library's resources online, and librarians are available for questions by phone, by email, and through our online chat service.

Fines are suspended:
Please hold onto equipment, books, and any other items you have checked out from the library until we re-open.  Both book drops (Riverside library entrance or the circle outside of Schneider Hall) are now closed.  Due Dates: All library items due between March 9 - May 31, 2020 have had their due dates changed to June 2, 2020. There are no fines for late books, CDs or DVDs, but if you’d like to renew items due before March 9th, or check your due dates, login here.

Interlibrary Loan:
Interlibrary loan is still possible for articles, but not for books and other returnables.  Please email John McCrackin,, with any ILL questions.  Requesting items from other campuses: Resource sharing with other UW libraries has been suspended indefinitely.

Our online chat service is still staffed and available from 8am – 5pm, Monday-Friday.

Meet with a librarian:
Students, faculty and staff can still schedule an appointment with a librarian, but such consultations will take place via Skype or Blackboard Collaborate.

Off-campus access:
Articles, streaming videos, online books, etc: When searching databases or clicking on resources in Library Search, you will be prompted for your campus username and password. Once you log in once, you should have permission for the length of your session.

Your Library Account:
To check your saved items, renew items you have checked out, or see your requests, login here.

Library Instruction:
Faculty and instructional staff are welcome to contact their library liaison to make alternative plans for library instruction, including library guides, short videos, or other online content.
