Blugold women's hockey heads to NCAA tournament

The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team has been busy making Blugold history.

On March 3, with an overtime win against UW-River Falls, the team earned the program's first Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. On March 5, the team learned it had accomplished another program first: a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament.

The Blugolds enter the tournament with an 18-6-4 record. They will take on Gustavus Adolphus on March 9 in St. Peter, Minnesota, and the winner will face Hamline on March 10 to vie for a spot in the March 16 national semifinals in Minneapolis.
