The 66th Annual Juried Student Art Show features artwork by over seventy University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students. The exhibition will be on view through November 16 and is free and open to the public. A reception and awards presentation will be held on Thursday, November 3, 6-7:30pm.
All current University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students are invited to submit to the Juried Student Art Show's call for artwork each year. A national juror looks through submissions and choses the work that will be included in the exhibition. Along with the call for artwork, the Foster Gallery also hosts a poster competition. The winning poster is used for publicity materials to advertise the exhibition. All poster contest submissions will be on display during the reception.
The juror for this year’s exhibition is Stacy Isenbarger. In addition to her creative artistic practice, Isenbarger is an Associate Professor of Art + Design at the University of Idaho and serves as their Foundations Coordinator. After selecting the works to include in this year’s juried show, Isenbarger wrote “For a show with such an open submission process, I did not seek to find a common thread or theme to highlight; instead, I tried to honor works where I saw a more engaged conversation starting with an intended audience or the artists themselves.” Stacy Isenbarger will present an artist talk on Thursday, November 3, 5pm in the Haas Fine Arts Center, room 101.
