UW-Eau Claire Artists Series to present Native Pride Dancers

In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the Native Pride Dancers will perform at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 in Schofield Auditorium at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The performance is presented by UW-Eau Claire's Artists Series and the Inter-Tribal Student Council student organization. A reception with refreshments in the Dakota Ballroom of Davies Center will immediately follow the performance.

The Native Pride Dancers merge culture with heart-thumping music, bringing dance, music and storytelling to indigenous communities and global audiences to enhance cultural exchange and artistic freedom. In a performance that features an innovative blend of modern and traditional heritage, the Native Pride Dancers exhibit several Native American dance styles.

The Artists Series is funded by UW-Eau Claire student segregated fees. Performers are selected and the series is administered by the UW-Eau Claire Activities, Involvement and Leadership office and by an administrative committee of students, university faculty/staff and community members. General promotional support is provided by WHYS Radio and Wisconsin Public Radio. The Artists Series, created in 1965 and now in its 52nd season promoting the performing arts, continues to seek development of aesthetic awareness, interdisciplinary appreciation and the cultivation of multicultural experiences.
