International transgender model Geena Rocero will share her inspiring story as part of The Forum series at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Rocero will present "Why I Must Come Out" at 7:30 p.m. March 2 in Schofield Auditorium. Immediately following her presentation, a reception with refreshments will be held in the Dakota Ballroom of Davies Center.
Rocero’s transgender image is known all across the world. She has shared her story of finding herself and encourages others to do the same through an uplifting, heart-to-heart conversation with the audience. Rocero has used her own experiences and obstacles to create a global platform for transgender individuals and rights and has left an indelible mark on the transgender community.
All tickets are available for order online, at the Service Center (715-836-3727) in Davies Center’s east lobby or at the door on the day of the event.
The Forum is funded through UW-Eau Claire student segregated fees. Speakers are selected and administered by the Activities, Involvement and Leadership office and by a committee composed of students, faculty, staff and community members. General promotional support is provided by WHYS Radio and Wisconsin Public Radio.
The Forum, now in its 75th season, continues to seek development of aesthetic awareness, interdisciplinary appreciation and cultivation of a multicultural experience.
