Abstract: Proceedings in Justice Court including a record of complaints entered, arrest and search warrants issued, arraignments and preliminary hearings conducted, trials held, and other actions taken. Information for each case varies but may include: names of parties to the case, their attorneys, and the prosecuting officers in criminal cases; summaries of pleas entered, appearances and testimony by witnesses, papers filed, and motions; record of adjournments, settlements, and discontinuations; a summary of findings by the court and judgments or sentences issued; and a record of fees and costs assessed. The cases involved a variety of civil matters and a few criminal cases; in the absence of the municipal judge, the justice court sometimes heard cases handled by the municipal court.
