Biographical / Historical Note

The Women’s Studies Program coordinates teaching, research, and scholarship in women’s studies at the University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire.  A Women’s Studies Committee was established at the university in the mid-1970s, in conjunction with a UW System initiative to consider women’s studies in the curriculum.  The program offered a minor for many years.  In 2006, the program received approval to offer a major.

Content Description

The collection, assembled by Sarah Harder, Professor of English Emeritus, contains committee and task force meeting minutes, reports to university administrators, files documenting the history of the program, planning documents, and syllabi of women’s studies courses.
