Biography/History

Terry A. Willkom, Democratic representative of Wisconsin's 67th Assembly district (1970-1976), was born February 23, 1943, in Stanley, Wisconsin. A graduate of Wisconsin State University-Eau Claire (1966), Willkom was a hospital business manager prior to his election to the Assembly. As a legislator, his committee assignments included taxation, rules, legislative organization, employment relations, interstate cooperation, council on criminal justice, liability of health professionals, highways, and natural resources. He served as majority leader for the 1974 legislative session, but did not run for reelection in 1976.

Scope and Content Note

The collection contains legislative papers, primarily reference materials such as reports and notes, accompanied by some correspondence. Very few legislative bills are present. The papers are treated as Subject Files, reflecting Willkom's original arrangement, and also detailing his special interests in health care and hospitals, and in the budget.
