Biographical / Historical Note

This is the collection of Ted P. Simpson who was a Sergeant in the United States Army. The collection documents his service during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm from 1990-1991. Simpson’s MOS (military occupational specialty) was Medium Helicopter Repairer (67U). He was trained to repair the CH-47 Chinook Helicopter. Along with being an aviation mechanic, he was also trained to be a flight crew member and a door gunner, though he never served in those capacities. He also served for one year in Korea prior to deploying to the Middle East.
