Biographical / Historical Note

The International Association of Administrative Professionals was founded in 1942 as the National Secretaries Association. The Association strived to provide a professional network and educational resources for secretarial staff. The association’s name was changed in 1998 to the International Association of Administrative Professionals to encompass the growing number of jobs within the field. These records document the activities of the Eau Claire (later named the Chippewa Valley) chapter of the association, which was established in 1971. The chapter attempted to professionalize secretarial work through education, organization, and the creation of a sense of community. Included in these records are flyers from classes, social events, and association events attended by chapter members. There are also meeting minutes, association publications, and scrapbooks created by local chapter members.

The records are divided into four series: publications, minutes, miscellaneous, and scrapbooks. Includes both analog and digital materials.
