Biographical / Historical Note
The Eau Claire Council of Church Women United was formed in 1939. According to the organization’s by-laws, it aimed to “encourage Christian women to come together in a visible fellowship to witness their faith in Jesus Christ and, enabled by the Holy Spirit, to go out together into every neighborhood and nation as instruments of reconciling love” (By-laws, 1999). Affiliated with Church Women United, USA (a national ecumenical Christian service association) since 1945, the Eau Claire Council engaged in Bible study, service activities, and fellowship. The organization was dissolved in 2007.

These records include meeting minutes, membership lists and yearbooks, financial records, and clippings. The majority of the materials date from 1970 to 2007.
