Abstract: Financial records including account ledgers, 1867-1914, which show receipts and disbursements for accounts with individuals and businesses, other counties, and cities, for county facilities, pauper relief and the county poor farm, the soldiers' relief fund, taxes, and witnesses' and jurors' fees; an account book of bills against towns and cities in Eau Claire County, primarily for poor relief, 1908-1957; a similar account book for other cities and counties, 1909-1938; and an index to poor relief cases, 1924-1966, listing the recipient's name, date, by whom the case was filed, and to whom the legal settlement was awarded in cases regarding which governmental unit was responsible for poor relief.
