Professors can use the News tool to post class updates, upcoming events, due dates, etc. They appear in the News widget on the Course Home page.
NOTE: If your professor has not created any news items, the “There is no news to display” message is displayed when you enter the course.
Dismiss News Items
When you dismiss a News item, you are not deleting it. You are only hiding it from your own view on the Course Home page. The dismissed news items are still available in the News Widget Tool.
- Click the dismiss button on the right corner of the News item.
- The News item is removed from the home page immediately.
Restore News Items
If you have accidently dismissed a news item, you can restore it.
- Click the News drop-down arrow.
- Select Go to News Tool.
- Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the item to be restored and select Restore. The news item is now visible on the Course Home page.
