Facilities: Painter

POSITION: A full-time university staff position is available in Facilities. The title for this assignment is Painter.  This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period. The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A thorough knowledge of interior and exterior finishes; adherence to rules and regulations of educational institutions; ability to interpret construction drawings; experience with working with other trades and maintenance staff.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

DUTIES: 

  • Paint and finish interior and exterior surfaces
  • Evaluate scope of work and develop material and labor hour estimates
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure work area is properly cleaned
  • Order materials, clean and maintain painting equipment
  • Maintain a log of painting activities

THE UNIT: The unit of Facilities consists of 140 staff members.
