University Centers: Business Services Manager
Position:
A full-time university staff position in the Service Center is available in the University Centers unit beginning in May 2023. The working title for this assignment is Business Services Manager with an official title of Athletic Ticket Operations Manager. This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period. The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution
- Superior customer service skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to the diverse populations of the university including faculty, staff, students and community members
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, train and motivate others
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage time-sensitive details
- Experience in preparing and managing budgets
- Experience in higher education and/or box office setting
- Valid Driver’s license and ability to earn and maintain certification to drive University vehicles
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience with ticketing hardware and software
- Previous experience with USPS procedures and regulations
- Previous experience with WISER and CampS software
- Experience in event planning/programing and marketing
Duties:
- System Administrator for ticketing and ID card printing software program along with hardware utilized by the Service Center/Blugold Card Office.
- Responsible for hiring, scheduling, training, and evaluating employees. The manager conducts regular meetings with student staff to ensure proper training.
- Coordinate with event organizers from campus and the community for ticketed events including venue set-up, ticket prices/discounts, coupons and other deals/promotions, event graphics/descriptions and special seating requirements.
- Reconcile all ticketed events and prepare audit reports for event sponsors. Create revenue and expense transfer reports and submit to the Business Office/ASK Center. Reconcile Service Center departmental expenditures and revenues on the monthly WISER accounting reports.
- Develop, implement and direct policies/procedures and processes for continual improvement involving the Service Center and Blugold Card Office.
- Direct Service Center employees in the proper connection of computers and peripherals to the network for both the Service Center and off-site ticket/box office locations. Prepare staff to handle hardware and software problems at the off-site ticket/box office locations.
- Train student cashiers and student supervisors with proper cash handling procedures working closely with Cash Management Services.
- Maintain customer information/list/data according to state and federal laws and within PCI compliance.
- Consult regularly with campus and community event sponsors regarding ticketing policies and procedures and any other items as needed.
- Evaluate ticketing and other services provided on a continuing basis for cost effectiveness and customer service. Foster relationships for continued growth.
- Manage and maintain the UWEC campus wide ID card creation, production and distribution for all students, staff, affiliates and departments (approximately 17,000 card holders).
- Organize on-going freshman, transfer and international student ID creation and distribution during Orientation Department and Center for International Education timelines.
- Other duties as assigned.

Overview:
This position reports to the Associate Director of University Centers. The Business Services Manager provides oversight, leadership and supervision of the staff and programs for the Service Center and Blugold Card Office. This role oversees a box office and off-site ticket/box office locations selling around 40,000 tickets for over 230 events campus with ticket sales of $500,000 annually, campus ID card production/distribution, campus switchboard/Information Desk, US Postal Service sub-station and centralized campus Lost and Found.
As a unit within University Centers, this Business Services Manager position is also responsible for upholding University mission, vision and values through dedicated job performance, service excellence, with a commitment to holistic student development.
