Sociology: Lecturer in Race and Ethnicity (20%)
POSITION: A part-time (20%), instructional academic staff position is available in the Department of Sociology with an emphasis in Race and Ethnicity for the 2023¿2024 academic year beginning August 21, 2023. The official title is Lecturer. This is a one-year appointment with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS: A master’s degree is required from a regionally accredited institution with a preference in the area of Sociology. The following will be considered assets: evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level; demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusivity.
–Teach one section of Race and Ethnicity in the United States in Fall 2023 (3-credits) and Spring 2024 (3-credits).
–In person or online synchronous instruction.
THE UNIT: The Department of Sociology consists of 8 faculty members. We oversee a major and minor in Sociology, a minor in Family Studies, and a Social Diversity Certificate (https://www.uwec.edu/academics/college-arts-sciences/departments-programs/sociology/).
