Public Health and Environmental Studies: Lab Instructor
POSITION: Two one semester temporary Instructional Academic Staff positions are available in the Public Health and Environmental Studies program with an emphasis in sustainability or environmental studies beginning August 21, 2023. The official title is in the Lecturer title series. This is a one-semester appointment with salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
QUALIFICATIONS: A master’s degree is required from a regionally accredited institution with a preference in the areas of health sustainability and/or environmental studies or other discipline that is relevant. The following will be considered assets: evidence of successful teaching at the collegiate level; experience in the field of health sustainability and/or environmental studies; and demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
DUTIES: Applicants will be expected to teach a one-credit lab for the ENV 101 Course, Sustainability Basics and Beyond.
THE UNIT: The department of Public Health and Environmental Studies consists of 7 staff members and is an interdisciplinary unit housed within the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. The unit offers majors in Environmental Public Health and Public Health and a minor in Public Health and coordinates two minors: (1) Environmental Science; and (2) Environment, Society and Culture. Faculty teach courses that contribute to majors, the minors, and other disciplines within the colleges; and some courses also meet the university liberal education requirements. We seek an individual who can bring experience, good organizational skills, and an ability to teach.
