Learning and Technology Services: Endpoint Management and IS Administrator
POSITION: A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in Learning & Technology Services (LTS) beginning Spring 2023. The working title for this assignment is Endpoint Management and IS Administrator with an official title of Technical Integration Engineer IV (Inst). This is a renewable one-year assignment, contingent on performance. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure is also required. Must be work-authorized in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Educational background in business, information systems, computer science, or equivalent area. Bachelor’s degree. Experience working with JAMF Pro Server. Experience working in technical support. Experience working in software administration and maintenance. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.
DUTIES: In support of the academic curriculum at UW-Eau Claire, this position is responsible for providing IT technical support for campus wide systems such as the software distribution systems and management for the Apple devices, licensing servers and services that control software licenses for the entire campus, and other third-party software application suites. The position will work closely with other personnel in Learning & Technology Services to ensure that software and systems are adequately supported and compatible with the existing UWEC campus environment. This position works heavily with the Desktop Computing and Learning Spaces teams. The position reports to the Manager of Client Support Services and performs under limited supervision. Primary duties include:
- Coordinate the delivery of Apple device technical IS services to UW-Eau Claire clients. (45%)
- Create software application packages to be distributed across campus. (25%)
- Administer, maintain, and update 3rd party software applications. (25%)
- Perform miscellaneous duties as required and participate in professional development activities. (5%)
THE UNIT: The unit of Learning & Technology Services consists of 50 full-time staff members along with approximately 75 part-time college student employees. Learning & Technology Services is the primary IT unit for the campus and works very closely with Academics Affairs and the operational units of the university to provide IT services and support.
