Event Production Coordinator
A full-time university staff position is available in University Centers beginning Spring 2023. The official title for this assignment is Event Coordinator with a working title of Event Production Coordinator. This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period. The salary range will commensurate with experience and qualifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant area of study from a nationally accredited institution
- Previously demonstrated strong leadership, mentoring and training abilities in production management, including lighting, sound and rigging as well as experience in multi-use facilities
- A minimum of 2-4 years of professional experience in production management
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master of Art, Master of Fine Arts, or a Masters degree in Theatre, Production Design/Management and/or Recording field
- Experience with large-scale events and/or touring production/music festivals
DUTIES: The Event Production Coordinators are responsible for the mentoring and instruction of student staff, internships, service learning and volunteer opportunities related to event production. This position is responsible for the comprehensive A/V and lighting systems of the University Centers at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and will be part of a 1.2 million AV upgrade later this year.
This position also mentors, instructs and monitors the performance of the Event Services - Event Production Crew, Usher Corp and Building Mangers (event setup, event monitoring of lighting, sound, video, event strike and all event production aspects of events). This position will have responsibility for the management, instruction and mentoring for all event production of University Centers, including Davies Center, Schofield Auditorium, Zorn Arena, Hilltop Center and other performance venues on and off campus.
This staff member must work closely with faculty and staff from academic departments and administrative units as well as the community to ensure quality customer service. This position will serve as one of the University Centers’ liaisons with the University Learning & Technology Services (LTS) staff. This individual must be flexible, especially in terms of hours worked since late evening, weekend, and holiday work will be a necessity. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Event Production in University Centers.
