Nursing: Tenure-Track Faculty in Maternal Child
The Department of Nursing is recruiting for a probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate professor with a specialty in Maternal Child at the Eau Claire campus. The appointment is for nine months, with a possibility of a summer appointment. Interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship opportunities are readily available and supported by the university. Engaged teams of students and faculty conduct research through the university student-faculty collaborative research grants program. Collaborative community exchanges, cultural immersion programs, and global awareness initiatives are well-established at the university, and new, innovative partnerships are supported through the university’s strategic plan and community agencies. Faculty and staff at the University foster student-centered learning, leadership skill development, and a robust shared governance model. Excellent research, leadership, clinical, and professional development opportunities are available and supported.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A successful candidate will present evidence of the following:
- DNP from an accredited nursing program or Ph.D. in nursing; or doctorate in a related field with a Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program; candidates near completion of the doctoral degree may be considered, contingent on completion of the doctoral degree prior to the start of the contract
- Unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the United States
- Eligible for immediate licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Wisconsin.
- Eligible for health care provider CPR certification, up to date immunizations, and other verifications required by clinical agencies
- Satisfactory background study clearance as required by state statutes
- Clinical practice experience as appropriate
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to the core values of equity, diversity, and inclusivity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Teaching experience in both undergraduate and graduate programs
- Professional nursing clinical experience
- Evidence of scholarly and/or research dissemination
- Skills/ability to integrate technology to enhance learning and teaching.
DUTIES:
The faculty role includes traditional classroom, clinical, and/or online teaching/learning as well as other innovations in inter-professional education, cross-disciplinary initiatives, community collaborations, and distance education processes; other faculty duties include performing research/scholarly activities, engaging in service, advising, and participating in university faculty governance through service on department, college, and university committees.

Department
The Department of Nursing offers four degree programs: traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion (BSNC), Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). UW-Eau Claire is the only public university in northwestern Wisconsin that offers a baccalaureate nursing degree. All programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
As a department, we believe high-impact educational experiences, scholarship, and service to our communities enhance students' and faculty's personal and professional growth and inclusivity in our professional and personal lives. Faculty can develop student intercultural immersion experiences. Current faculty-led domestic intercultural immersion experiences include working with migrant farm workers in western Wisconsin, the Somali population in northern Wisconsin, and clinical work with the Lakota Sioux nation in South Dakota. Scholarship and research are supported at the college and university levels. Undergraduate students can collaborate with faculty on faculty-mentored scholarly projects through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs.
