Inventory Control Coordinator

A full-time university staff position is available in Facilities beginning September, 2022.  The working and official title for this assignment is Inventory Control Coordinator. This position has a sustainability focus through management of our surplus program and completion of the annual waste diversion report submitted to The Princeton Review.  It is one of three positions covering central receiving, surplus and mailroom which are cross-trained. This position manages surplus online auction, campus moves & set-ups for small events, metal and e-waste recycling, and maintenance and procurement of campus vehicles.  Employee must be organized and lead a robust student workforce. These positions must provide a consistent and high level of customer service, be detail oriented and focus on process improvement. Work will be performed under general supervision of the Facilities Business Manager/Analyst.  The hourly wage is $17-$17.50 with an estimated value of employer paid compensation and benefits assuming family enrollment with uniform dental is $62,000.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to maintain excellent customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move supplies and equipment up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license to drive University vehicles.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, email, internet, and data entry on multiple databases.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified forklift operator.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a Supervisory role.
  • Advanced knowledge in materials management systems and inventory control techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, email, internet, and data entry on multiple databases; knowledge of TMA computerized maintenance management system is helpful.

THE UNIT: Facilities Management is the division of UW-Eau Claire responsible for the operation and maintenance of 28 major buildings, 177 acres of developed land, and 186 acres of undeveloped land. Facilities Management is made up of several different sub-units including Material and Supply Store, Surplus Store, Mail Services, Grounds Maintenance, Building Trades Shops (Carpentry, Controls, Electrical, Lock, Mechanical, Paint, Plumbing), Capital Equipment Inventory, Custodial Services, Heating Plant, and Vehicle Maintenance Shop.
