Enrollment Management Retention Specialist - Communication & Engagement Specialist

A full-time, professional academic staff position is available in the Enrollment Management Division beginning March 1, 2022.   The working title for this assignment is Enrollment Management Retention Specialist – Communication & Engagement Specialist with an official title of Retention Specialist.  This is a renewable assignment, contingent on performance.  This position will report to the Executive Director of Enrollment Management for Administration and Retention. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

DUTIES:

Rapid Response Team:

  • Develop and manage an inventory of data pertaining to student success, predictive analytics, and student     concerns
  • Create strategic communication plans in response to predictive analytics to contribute to student support, persistence, and retention
  • Coordinate students of concern lists for distribution to appropriate campus stakeholders and develop a system to track follow-up
  • Develop resource and persistence milestone awareness campaigns 
  • Provide support for the student communication center
  • Design, maintain, and update content in conjunction with other ARCC staff, in the EAB Navigate app
  • Set up and maintain reports around key milestones and assessment of engagement and retention strategies

Communication and Social Media:

  • Support divisional social media-assisting with content, responses to comments and implementing new approaches
  • Coordinate responses for the campus-wide Parent Family Facebook Page
  • Oversee the “Blugold Family Communication” program and expand new opportunities for engagement
  • Serve as divisional liaison for Integrated Marketing and Communications

Programming:

  • Partner with divisional leadership to develop and/or support programming efforts around student onboarding, engagement, and retention. Included but not limited to:
    • Enhancing the approach to Individual Interactions of the RA student staff
    • Coordinating best practices around student employment as a retention tool
    • Connecting incoming students with student engagement opportunities around clubs, orgs and teams.
  • Create and promote a calendar of engagement opportunities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution 
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusivity 
  • Strong written and oral communication 
  • Demonstrated ability to establish productive and collegial collaborative relationships with    campus partners (ex. staff, faculty, students, etc.) 
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience 
  • Ability to plan, organize, and meet goals 
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies based on data informed decisions  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field from a regionally accredited institution 
  • Demonstrated understanding of retention and related issues in higher education 
  • Professional experience working in a higher education setting 
  • Experience coordinating large-scale programs and events
