International Education Coordinator

A 50%, professional academic staff position is available in the Solution Center beginning February.  The working title for this assignment is International Education Coordinator with an official title of International Education Coordinator.  This is a renewable assignment, contingent on performance and funding.  The full time equivalent base salary range is $38,000 to $42,000 and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution is required.  Also required are excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure; and the ability to develop and implement new programing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience and knowledge in higher education, organizational social media, and working with international students.

DUTIES:

This position is responsible for assisting a growing population of international students at UW-Eau Claire – Barron County and coordinating programming to assure their success on campus. Designs, implements, and evaluates programs to engage and develop international students to foster an inclusive and diverse community. Working closely with the campus Solution Center and faculty as well as the Center of International Education, this position coordinates arrival, intake, orientation, general advising and ongoing support services and programming for international students and is dedicated to increasing international student enrollment, assuring general success and retention rates, and providing support from admission until successful transfer. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. The position is expected to work year-round. The coordinator reports to the UWEC-Barron County Campus Director.

  • Schedules logistics and secures and manages resources for various programs to support international students
  • Develops programming and resource materials, within budget guidelines and across various mediums, to provide cocurricular and engagement opportunities to international students
  • Advises on student visa issues through individual consultations and workshops across various mediums
  • Interprets and communicates student rights, responsibilities, and options related to specific requests and situations
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for international students, promoting their contributions to diverse communities
  • Advisor to International Student Organization
  • Other duties as assigned
